A foundational review of the male reproductive system — testicular structure, spermatogenesis, hormonal regulation, and the physiology of ejaculation — to build the background needed to interpret semen analysis results correctly.
In-depth study of the WHO Laboratory Manual (6th Edition, 2021) — the internationally recognized reference standards, reference values, and standardized procedures for semen analysis used in fertility laboratories worldwide.
Hands-on training in evaluating semen volume, liquefaction, viscosity, colour and pH (macroscopic), followed by microscopic assessment of sperm concentration, motility, and morphology.
Practical, supervised practice with the standard manual counting chambers used in andrology labs — correct loading technique, counting grids, and calculating accurate sperm concentration.
Guided bench sessions in a real laboratory setting, giving participants direct, supervised experience performing the techniques covered in the course rather than theory alone.
Best practices for internal quality control, result verification, and maintaining accurate, audit-ready laboratory records — essential for reliable, reproducible results in a clinical setting.
